So, the two-year anniversary of this here Weird Shit Blog came and went back in July and I didn’t say much about it, but I wanted to stroke my own ego and post about some of the cool shit that has happened to me since July 2010. (And yes, there’s a real post coming later this week. Sorry I missed last week.)
How cool was it when CNNMoney showed one of my articles during a segment where they did a feature on Cracked.com?
Oh man, and when I got three articles in Cracked’s Top 25 for 2011? (The only other person with that many was David Wong himself!)
And how about over 50 million views across 30 articles on Cracked alone?
Or what about that time when C. Coville and I were guests on Film School Rejects’ podcast to discuss our article, 5 Hollywood Secrets That Explain Why So Many Movies Suck? (Max Yezpitelok sat out because he actually has one of those creepy voiceboxes that old people who smoke too much have and it was stuck on “Ridiculous French Accent”.)
Speaking of Film School Rejects, how about when Roger Ebert (and Alyssa Milano!) tweeted about my article, 6 Things the Film Industry Doesn’t Want You to Know About? (He put it on Facebook, too. Additional quote: “And that’s for sure.”)
And even before that, Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy tweeted praise for my third Cracked article, 5 Complaints About Life That Are Statistically B.S.
And finally there was Adult Swim referencing my very first Cracked.com article, 6 Statistically Full of Shit Dangers the Media Loves to Hype, in one of their bumps.
So yeah, it’s been a fucking great two years, and I hope you guys are all still around in two more years, unless those Nibiru guys are right, in which case it was lovely knowing you all!
